Research Project
Renal and Intestinal Injury in Pediatric Malaria
My project will be focusing on kidney injury and intestinal injury in Ugandan children with severe malaria.
Research Significance
Malaria affects over 200 million people a year around the world, resulting in about 400,000 deaths a year, the majority of which are children under 5 years of age. This project will add to our understanding of the renal and intestinal complications of severe malaria, which can have implications for management of the disease.
